The聽Animal Welfare Committee (AWC)聽advice reviews the use of ventilation shutdown for emergency culling of poultry affected by highly pathogenic avian influenza as a method of depopulation for disease control. It explores the animal welfare and ethical implications of using this method in exceptional circumstances. This AWC opinion was sent to government on 5 June 2023.
