MHRA became aware of 鈥渟helf-edge鈥� promotional material for Nurofen Plus (ibuprofen & codeine) issued by Reckitt Benckiser which was displayed in a pharmacy. The material included the statement 鈥淲hen you Need More from your Pain Killer鈥�. MHRA was concerned that, by presenting the words 鈥淣eed More鈥� and 鈥淧ainkiller鈥� more prominently than the remaining text, the material did not promote the rational use of the medicine.
Reckitt Benckiser confirmed that they would withdraw the material and committed not to issue promotional material with the same design layout in future.
