Throughout this guide DfE and Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) are referred to as 鈥楧epartment for Education (DfE)鈥�: the ESFA鈥檚 functions are being transferred to other directorates in DfE prior to the ESFA ceasing to exist as a separate agency from 1 April 2025.
This guidance sets out the principles and features of our funding system for the 2024 to 2025 funding year (1 August to 31 July) for Department for Education (DfE) funded ASF delivery. We may make changes to these principles and features during the funding year.
