Details

On 3 August 2018 Associated British Ports (ABP) made a formal application to the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) under section 14 of the Harbours Act 1964 for The Port of Lowestoft (Transfer of Mutford Lock) Harbour Revision Order 2021 (鈥渢he Order鈥�).

The Order authorises the transfer of Mutford Lock, adjoining land held with Mutford Lock, and statutory powers or duties relating to Mutford Lock from ABP to the Broads Authority. Full details can be viewed in the Order and the rationale behind the powers can be viewed in the accompanying statement in support.

The Order is concurrent with The Broads Authority (Transfer of Mutford Lock) Harbour Revision Order 2021.

The MMO approved the making of the Order on 14 January 2021, details of the decision-making process can be viewed in The Port of Lowestoft (Transfer of Mutford Lock) Harbour Revision Order 2021 decision letter. The Order will be laid before parliament on 21 January 2021 and will come into force on 19 February 2021.
