This report presents the findings of the Commission鈥檚 research into the relationship between charities, their beneficiaries, and public views of what being a recipient of a charity鈥檚 services might mean today.

It looks at the public鈥檚 knowledge about what is and isn鈥檛 charitable, as well as:

  • what difference personal experience makes to service expectations
  • and what stigma may be attached to using charity鈥檚 services

The commission鈥檚 research identifies a list of recommendations to help charities improve how they treat and reach out to beneficiaries, as well as managing their expectations.
