Marcus was Chair of the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) Board from 7 September 2022 to 21 January 2025.聽

He chairs the Development Board of Pembroke College, Cambridge and serves on Board of Governors of the Manchester Grammar School. 聽

Previously,聽he was an investor in startups and advisor to the entrepreneurs who founded them. He was also a Senior Partner and Managing Director at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), leading the firm鈥檚 UK and European Consumer Practice, Strategy Practice and a range of global client teams. He also established and developed BCG鈥檚 China business.
