Janine Lloyd-Jones
Biography
Janine Lloyd-Jones was appointed Director of Communication at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in June 2023. Janine served as Interim Director of Communication from March 2023 until June 2023.
Janine was formerly Deputy Director of Communication at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) from 2017 to 2020.聽 She has a background in journalism and has a communication career spanning nearly 20 years in government. Janine has worked in 5 different government departments, including at the Prime Minister鈥檚 Office, where she covered foreign, development and defence issues.聽
Janine has worked in Scottish Parliament as well as in the UK regions.聽Most recently, Janine spent 2 years as Director of Communication and Marketing for an artificial intelligence company.
Director of Communication
The Director of Communication oversees the FCDO鈥檚 media and digital operations, delivery of priority campaigns, internal communication and public diplomacy. The Director is Head of Profession, with responsibility for ensuring high quality communication across the FCDO鈥檚 global network.
