Biography

David McIlroy took up his appointment as Charg茅 d鈥橝ffaires of the British Embassy, Asmara in Eritrea in April 2024.

David was previously Her Majesty鈥檚 Ambassador to Guinea from 2019 to 2022. He was United Kingdom Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Vienna (2011 to 2015) and Deputy Head of Mission and Her Majesty鈥檚 Consul General in Belgrade (2004 to 2007).
