About us

Our mission is to deliver a geological disposal facility and provide radioactive waste management solutions. We are engaging with communities to inform our work.


Our commitment

RWM is engaging in discussions to help build understanding of geological disposal and the process to identify a site for a UK geological disposal facility.

Who we are

We are a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), which is an Executive Non-Departmental Public Body of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

Our objectives

Our 2020-21 key activities are:

  • Implement government policy on geological disposal of higher activity waste

  • Work proactively with waste producers to plan for and deliver waste management solutions

  • Deliver a robust Technical Programme to support the GDF programme and waste management

  • Develop RWM into a high performing delivery organisation
