About us

The Online Procedure Rule Committee was set up under the Judicial Review and Courts Act 2022 to make rules governing the practice and procedure for specific types of online court and tribunal proceedings across the Civil, Family and Tribunal jurisdictions.


Mission statement

The aim of the Online Procedure Rule Committee is to improve access to justice for all by harnessing the power of modern digital technology in the pre-action space, in the civil and family courts and in the tribunals.

Membership 聽

The rules of committee membership are set out in Section 22 of the Judicial Review and Courts Act 2022. The committee is chaired by the Master of the Rolls, Head of Civil Justice. All non-judicial members are appointed, in accordance with the Office of the Commission for Public Appointment鈥檚 Code of Practice.
