1. Who we are and what we do
Constitutionally, we are a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). Our statutory objects are contained in the , the legislation creating the Homes and Communities Agency, which in 2018 adopted “Homes England� as its trading name.�
Section 2 to the HRA sets out our statutory functions, which are:
- To improve the supply and quality of housing;Ìý
- To secure the regeneration or development of land or infrastructure;Ìý
- To support in other ways the creation, regeneration or development of communities or their continued wellbeing; and,Ìý
- To contribute to the achievement of sustainable development and good design, with a view to meeting peoplesâ€� needs.Ìý
- Homes England are responsible for these objectives across England, except in London.
