The UK鈥檚 role in defending media freedom
The Minister for South Asia, Commonwealth and United Nations at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Office (FCDO), Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, reflected on the UK's leadership in defending media freedom.
The Minister for South Asia, Commonwealth and United Nations, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, attended the International Bar Association鈥檚 鈥榁irtually Together鈥� Conference, that followed the successful Canada-Botswana led Global Media Freedom Conference last week.
Lord Ahmad thanked the High Level Panel at the International Bar Association鈥檚 鈥榁irtually Together鈥� Conference for their work to defend media freedom and welcomed their report on providing refuge to journalists at risk. 鈥淵our work to tackle those who seek to intimidate the press is vital鈥�, he said.
