The British Ambassador visits Santorini
The visit is an excellent opportunity to enhance the embassy鈥檚 cooperation with local authorities, community and stakeholders.

The British Ambassador to Greece, Mr John Kittmer, together with the Consul, Ms Beverley Lewis, is visiting Santorini (25 to 26 April), a famous tourist destination increasingly popular with British tourists.
The visit is an excellent opportunity to enhance the British Embassy鈥檚 cooperation with local authorities, community and stakeholders as part of its continuing work to provide British nationals with the best possible consular care while they are in Greece. In places, such as Santorini consular representation is provided centrally from the Athens Consulate.
The ambassador will have a meeting with the Mayor of Santorini, Mr Anastassios Nicholaos Zorzos, with the participation of local authorities representatives and he will then have the opportunity to visit the significant archaeological site of Akrotiri.
Ahead of his visit the British Ambassador said:
Greece is a popular destination for British tourists and world-famous Santorini is receiving an increasing number of them every year. It is our duty and priority to make sure that we are able to offer the best possible care to our nationals wherever they are in Greece, whether we have a consular presence or not. We strive to improve what we do and we are well aware that we cannot do this work without the Greek government and authorities. We are very grateful to the Mayor of Santorini and the local authorities for this opportunity to strengthen our cooperation.
