Tanzanian President visits UK
President Kikwete visits UK as a Guest of Her Majesty鈥檚 Government meeting PM David Cameron, Foreign Secretary William Hague, HRH The Duke of York. Opens UK/Tanzania Trade and Investment Forum and visits Aberdeen to see UK expertise in the oil and gas sector.

The growing partnership between the UK and Tanzania on trade and investment, defence and security and governance and human rights were key features of President Kikwete鈥檚 Guest of Government visit to the UK, from 31 March- 1 April.
President Kikwete鈥檚 programme in London included bilateral meetings with British Prime Minister David Cameron at Number 10 Downing Street, Foreign Secretary William Hague, and HRH Prince Andrew the Duke of York; a major UK/Tanzania Trade and Investment Forum; a think tank event at Chatham House; a formal dinner at the historic Lancaster House with business leaders; and a reception at the Foreign and Commonwealth office鈥檚 Durbar court hosted by the British-Tanzania Society.
The President also visited Aberdeen in Scotland, the centre of the UK鈥檚 North Sea oil and gas industry to see for himself UK energy sector expertise.
Speaking during the visit British Foreign Secretary William Hague said: 鈥淚 am delighted at the growing partnership between the UK and Tanzania on a number of fronts. Tanzania offers significant opportunities for British businesses in the energy sector and beyond and has the potential to become a major new global gas supplier.鈥�
