Poppy Appeal
The British Embassy in Asuncion will show its support for the , an annual fundraising campaign to help British Armed Forces and their families.
From the end of October until Remembrance Day on 11 November 2014, the traditional poppy badges will be available in exchange for a donation at the British Embassy in Asuncion (Edificio Citicenter, Avenida Mariscal Lopez y Cruz del Chaco, 5th floor, Asuncion, Paraguay).
The Poppy Appeal began in 1921 and ever since has been a vital source of funding to the Royal British Legion鈥檚 work in providing financial advice, access to care and help in the home, bereavement support and many other services to former and current servicemen and women, and their families.
The poppies came into being from the John McCrae poem 鈥業n Flanders Fields鈥� and the poppy badges are traditionally made by hand in the 鈥楶oppy Factory鈥� by disabled ex-servicemen and women.
