Magnox set to digitally enhance asset management

Magnox Ltd is inviting suppliers to collaborate on a major project to enhance the way it manages its assets.

Interested suppliers can find out more about the requirements and vision for the estimated 拢10 million project to deliver an enterprise asset management system at a webinar on Thursday 9 February 2023.

Dean Branton, Magnox Chief Information Officer said: 鈥淢agnox has a unique estate, responsible for decommissioning the earliest generating and research reactors. Our assets include the original reactor buildings, each individually designed, with hundreds of other associated buildings and systems designated for decommissioning and eventual demolition.

鈥淏ut to decommission the old, we also need to construct the new, including innovative facilities to support waste retrieval, processing and storage. An effective asset management system will help us to make the best decisions for our fleet.

Magnox, a subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, currently operates 13 sites around the UK and will begin to add EDF鈥檚 nuclear power stations into its fleet once they complete their defueling journey in the coming years.
