Lynne Featherstone new violence against women champion
The coalition government today launched a strategic vision of how they plan to tackle violence against women and girls.

For the first time the strategy brings together work to tackle violence against women in the UK with details of the international approach to tackle this global problem - including that Home Office Minister Lynne Featherstone has been appointed Overseas Champion to lead on the UK鈥檚 international work.
International Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell said:
鈥淟ynne Featherstone鈥檚 appointment helps demonstrate the coalition鈥檚 commitment to taking action on violence against women around the world. The coalition are putting women and girls at the heart of all of our work to tackle global poverty and I look forward to working with Lynne on her important new role of International Violence Against Women Champion鈥
