Launch of new Global Poverty Action Fund

DFID launches the Global Poverty Action Fund (previously called the Poverty Impact Fund) which will provide grants for projects tackling poverty in poor countries.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

The UK Government is launching the new Global Poverty Action Fund today. The Fund (previously called the Poverty Impact Fund) will support poverty reduction projects focused on service delivery working towards the most off-track Millennium Development Goals in poor countries. The core principles of transparency, value for money and results underpin this initiative.

DFID conducted a public consultation on the Fund. The Fund design has now been finalised, taking into account the 122 comments received. 聽is available on the website. The 聽is now open, and the deadline for receipt of applications is 14 December 2010.
