Jobs boost for Glasgow
Scottish Secretary welcomes Singaporean firm's decision to locate in Glasgow.
Scottish Secretary Alistair Carmichael has welcomed EEW Energy Services鈥� decision to choose Glasgow as the site of its first UK office.
He said:
Today鈥檚 announcement by EEW Energy Services is great news and reflects Glasgow鈥檚 qualities as a place to do business.
The UK Government is working hard to create a stable platform for sustained growth in our economy. Through our initiatives in the oil and gas and renewable sectors we are providing certainty and security for investors as today鈥檚 decision reflects.
Singapore is already one of Scotland鈥檚 largest markets outside of Europe. Our businesses benefit from the UK鈥檚 diplomatic, consular and trade networks across Southeast Asia. Combined with the free trade agreement reached last year between the EU and Singapore, I hope to see Scottish businesses increase their footprint in Singapore.
