Honduran student to pursue a Master鈥檚 Degree in the United Kingdom
The British Embassy awarded a Chevening Scholarship to Ana Belen Rodriguez, who is going to the United Kingdom for a year to study a Master鈥檚 Degree in International Development at the University of Westminster

Ana Belen went through a rigorous selection process for a programme that awards outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world. This year the British Embassy awarded two scholarships, as well as Ana Belen鈥檚 to a Guatemalan national who is going to study at the University of Essex. Both have been awarded with full scholarships that include travel costs, a monthly stipend, and academic fees.
The Chevening Scholarships are the UK government鈥檚 global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. Chevening Scholars come from 118 countries worldwide, and this year the Scholarships will support more than 600 individuals.
To mark the event, British Ambassador to Honduras, Sarah Dickson said:
鈥淚 would like to congratulate Ana Belen on her scholarship. The Chevening programme has a rich history and is one of the most prestigious scholarships. Her experience in the United Kingdom will expose her to high standards of education and to a rich and diverse cultural experience. Upon her return, I鈥檓 sure she鈥檒l make outstanding contributions to Honduras鈥檚 development. I wish her the very best of luck.鈥�
