Foreign Secretary condemns terrorist attack in Beirut and highlights UK support for Lebanon鈥檚 stability.

Responding to the bomb attack this morning which killed Lebanon鈥檚 former Finance Minister, Foreign Secretary William Hague said:

I strongly condemn the terrorist attack that took place in central Beirut this morning which resulted in the death of former Lebanese Minister of Finance Mohamad Chatah and killed and injured many others. My sympathies go out to Mr Chatah鈥檚 family and to all of those affected by this appalling crime.

The United Kingdom remains fully committed to supporting Lebanon鈥檚 stability and to putting an end to the culture of impunity. Those responsible for this attack must be brought to justice.
