Farewell for Guatemalan Chevening scholars

The British Ambassador hosted a farewell dinner for five Guatemalan scholars going to the UK.

The British Ambassador to Guatemala, Nick Whittingham, sent off successful Chevening Scholarship recipients at a small dinner hosted at his residence.

Every year, a group of outstanding Guatemalan scholars are selected to study different fields at UK universities under the prestigious Chevening Scholarship, funded by the British Government.

The five 2021-2022 scholars are:

  • Pablo Jos茅 Men茅ndez P茅rez, MSc in Advanced Materials for Sustainable Infrastructure, Imperial College London.
  • Mar铆a Anaisabel Galindo Flores, MSc in Development Administration and Planning, University College London.
  • Ana Elizabeth Barrientos Pe帽a, MSc in Statistics, Lancaster University.
  • Mar铆a Fernanda de Jes煤s Gal谩n Maldonado, MA in Public Administration and Public Policy, University of York.
  • Virgina Mar铆a Nu帽ez Aguirre, MSc in Analytical Chemistry, Birkbeck, University of London.

Chevening is the UK Government鈥檚 global scholarship programme that offers future leaders the unique opportunity to study in the UK. These scholarships are awarded to outstanding professionals from all over the world to pursue a one-year master鈥檚 degree in any subject at any UK university.
