British companies target Americas security sector through Ameripol
UK companies find out more about the region's security market while exhibiting at Ameripol conference

Nine British companies exhibited their security-related products and services at the 6th Summit of the American Police (Ameripol) held in San Jos茅, Costa Rica, from November 11-13, 2013.
This year鈥檚 6th Summit, which focused on finding mechanisms for greater coordination and cooperation in the fight against organised crime, provided a unique occasion for British companies to meet with high-ranking officials from regional law enforcement agencies, as well as key contacts from observer countries.

Organised by the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) office of the British Embassy Costa Rica, this business component was the first of its kind for Ameripol, which gave the participating companies an exclusive opportunity to promote their high-calibre products and services, from body-worn-video systems to protest and emergency equipment and localisation software to a captive audience of senior police and judicial authorities.

鈥淭he UK鈥檚 security sector is one of the most dynamic in the world, with an annual export growth of over 18% and the companies that took part in this mission offered some of the most advanced and creative solutions in terms of security systems,鈥� indicated Luisa Pastor, UKTI Director.
Taking part in the two-day Outward Security Mission were BT Global Services, Creativity Software, Dextera Global Ltd., Drugloo, Edesix, Indigo Vision, NDI Recognition Systems, Scott Safety Ltd. and Top Dog Security, several of which already provide support to different departments of the British Government. The companies expressed great satisfaction with both the organisation of the event, as well as the business opportunities found in the region鈥檚 burgeoning security sector, stating that the conference provided 鈥渁n excellent showcase for awareness building鈥� of their brands.

British Ambassador Sharon Campbell also took time to meet with each of the companies, and underlined that 鈥淭he UK government is committed to strengthening security in the region, and firmly believes that regions with a shared vision of security can generate inspiring actions.鈥�
