Book of condolence for Lady Thatcher in Rome and Milan

The British Embassy in Rome and the Milan Consulate General open a book of condolence for former Prime Minister Lady Thatcher.

The book is open for people to sign and leave messages between 09.00 and 17.00 from Tuesday 9 April until further notice.

The Embassy is located at Via XX Settembre 80/a, 00187 Rome, while the Milan British Consulate General is in Via Via San Paolo 7, 20121 Milan. People wishing to sign should come to reception [with photographic identification].

The British Ambassador to Italy, Christopher Prentice, said:

鈥淣otwithstanding one鈥檚 political beliefs, everybody must acknowledge the extraordinary results obtained by a unique woman, as Prime Minister in the UK and as Head of State at an international level鈥�

鈥淚 offer my deepest sympathy to her family and friends at this time of sad loss.鈥�
