has delivered a speech at the University of Leicester Sir Sigmund Sternberg Lecture.

滨苍听迟丑别 she made the case聽against the rising tide of anti-religious bigotry.

Baroness Warsi warned聽that Islamophobia was seen by many Britons as normal and uncontroversial.聽

She said there was a tendency to divide Muslims between 鈥渕oderates鈥� and 鈥渆xtremists鈥�, which she said could fuel misunderstanding and intolerance.

Baroness Warsi said:

This is not actually about controlling the conversations that go on in people鈥檚 homes.

This is about drawing a line as to the state of anti-religious hatred or bigotry in Britain today and then setting out a series of measures as to how we move that forward.
