Foreign Office Minister Baroness Warsi

At Georgetown University tomorrow (Friday), the Minister will make a key intervention on the international response to the persecution of Christians and other religious minorities - something she has dubbed 鈥渁 global crisis鈥.

Baroness Warsi, who is also the UK鈥檚 first Minister for Faith, will call for unity in confronting the intolerance and sectarianism that leads to minority communities being persecuted around the world, including a 鈥渕ass exodus鈥 of Christians.

She will set out her vision for a cross-faith, cross-continent response to the problem, with a positive, practical focus on promoting the benefits of religious plurality to societies.

Georgetown is home to some of the world鈥檚 leading academics on freedom of religion or belief.

The speech will follow an event on religious freedom hosted at the Council on Foreign Relations. The discussion will be moderated by Katherine Marshall, visiting professor at Berkley Centre for Religion at Georgetown University.
