Electrical Safety in Social Rented Homes: Working Group
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government are forming a stakeholder Working Group to inform the content of our consultation on electrical safety in the social rented homes sector.
The Charter for social housing residents: social housing white paper, published on 17 November 2020, announced a consultation on electrical safety in the social rented sector. As per our commitment during the Fire Safety Bill debate last November, we are forming a Working Group to inform the consultation.
Working Group
Government has invited representatives from the social sector and technical specialist groups to a Working Group that will meet between spring and autumn 2021.
Meetings will explore the best way to protect social residents from electrical harm, with the aim of producing a report that will inform the content of the consultation.
If you would like to be involved in the Working Group as a non-core participant, please email [email protected].
Consultation
Government will consider the findings of the Working Group along with other evidence on electrical safety, and take any new policy proposals forward in a consultation.
Further details on how we will be seeking further input will be announced in due course.
