The CMA is consulting on a proposed recommendation that the Secretary of State replace the Assimilated Technology Transfer Block Exemption with a UK block exemption order, when it expires on 30 April 2026.

The Consultation on the CMA鈥檚 Proposed Recommendation on the Assimilated TTBER consultation opens at 1pm on 14 March 2025 and closes at 5pm on 11 April 2025.

The CMA鈥檚 review will assess whether the Assimilated TTBER continues to meet its intended purpose and will take account of any specific features of the UK economy and interests of businesses and consumers. The CMA鈥檚 review will also consider the European Commission Technology Transfer guidelines that accompany the existing EU TTBER.
