Consultation description
Safeguarding directions for the HS1 route were originally issued by the Secretary of State for Transport in 1994 and updated in 1996. They have existed unchanged ever since.
The HS1 network is fully operational so it is now possible to reduce the amount of land currently safeguarded. Safeguarding directions can now be revised to include land necessary for the safety and maintenance of the route.
