Through the establishment of a dedicated General Aviation (GA) Unit within CAA and the setting up of a GA Challenge Panel the government and CAA have shown the commitment to supporting and encouraging a vibrant GA sector.

As part of its strategy to promote economic growth, the government has committed to cut the overall volume of rules and regulations on the statute book. To help, it set up the to provide a forum for the public to post comments about regulations that could be scrapped.

The General Aviation Red Tape Challenge is 1 theme which has raised many areas where regulation is overly burdensome on businesses across the UK aviation sector.
