The Secretary of State for Defence published a white paper, 鈥楻eserves in the future force 2020: valuable and valued鈥�, on 3 July 2013, which sets out our plans to sustain and grow our reserve forces. The white paper was informed by our public consultation.

This report provides a summary of the responses to the consultation on 鈥楩uture Reserves 2020 (FR20): delivering the nation鈥檚 security together鈥�. We received over 3000 responses from a range of groups including reservists, their families, employers and regulars.

Consultation description
On 5 July 2012, the Secretary of State for Defence responded to the 鈥楻eview of the United Kingdom鈥檚 reserve forces鈥� published on 18 July 2011. Given the scale of change required, he requested the Ministry of Defence carry out a formal public consultation.
