DFID鈥檚 response to the consultation on the Inclusive Data Charter Action Plan
Original consultation
Consultation description
The launched the on 17 July 2018 at the High Level Political Forum. The charter aims to mobilise wide political support to improve the quality, quantity, financing and availability of inclusive and disaggregated data for the benefit of the poorest and most marginalised people. It is hoped that between now and 2030, the charter will act as a mechanism to spur countries and organizations to accelerate action on data disaggregation and encourage others to do the same. Improving the availability of disaggregated and openly accessible data will help to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
DFID is pleased to join the ten early adopters that signed up to the charter at the High Level Political Forum July 2018.
DFID鈥檚 action plan lays out the actions and next steps we will take over the short, medium and longer term to better understand the situation of the poorest and most marginalized, and make better decisions that positively impact all people鈥檚 lives. The actions address how DFID will put into action the five principles outlined in the 鈥樷 to make data more inclusive, improve disaggregation, draw data from all available sources, ensure those responsible for the collection of data and production of statistics are accountable, and build human and technical capacity to do this.
This consultation seeks your views on our plans to implement the charter in DFID.
