Low carbon fuels in transport

How using low carbon fuels can reduce transport greenhouse gas emissions.

Low carbon fuels (LCFs) are a diverse range of fuels that reduce greenhouse gas emissions across their lifecycle when compared to conventional fossil fuels.

These fuels are an important part of the UK鈥檚 transport decarbonisation strategy, particularly in sectors where alternatives like electrification are not yet viable; such as aviation, shipping, and heavy-duty road transport.
