To bring down the cost of capturing and sequestering CO2 and helping UK industry to understand the opportunity for developing and deploying next generation carbon capture technologies from 2025.

How the competition is structured

Up to 拢20 million grant funding is available over 2 calls to:

  • support innovation in novel聽CCUS聽technology increasing its technology and commercial readiness level (TRL聽& CRL)
  • demonstrate and de-risk next generation聽CCUS聽technologies to allow it to deploy commercially from 2025
  • reduce the cost of deploying聽CCUS聽and create competitive pressure on current available technology

The CCUS Innovation 2.0 competition is part of the 拢1 billion Net Zero Innovation Portfolio (NZIP).
