Almost £20 million for Weston-Super-Mare (Levelling Up Fund 2)

Almost £20 million from the Levelling Up Fund was awarded to North Somerset Council to improve several high-profile sites in Weston.

Levelling Up WestonÌý

Levelling Up funding will support improvements to buildings and sites across Weston’s town centre and seafront.ÌýÌý

This will:ÌýÌý

  • transform the culture, leisure and retail experience for residents, business and visitorsÌý
  • reinvent iconic heritage buildingsÌý
  • support local businessesÌýÌý
  • create more diverse and higher quality employment for residentsÌýÌý

Weston Town CentreÌý

Weston Town Centre will benefit from more flexible spaces to attract independent retail, and town design to encourage people to explore the town centre and seafront.ÌýÌý

Birnbeck PierÌý

Buildings at the shore end of Birnbeck Pier will be brought back into use.Ìý

Grove ParkÌý

Grove Park’s entrance will be revamped, and the park’s buildings will be repurposed.ÌýÌý

°Õ°ù´Ç±è¾±³¦²¹²Ô²¹ÌýÌý

The Tropicana event space will be transformed into an attractive venue with capacity for 8,000 people and include better food and drink facilities.ÌýÌý

Marine LakeÌý

Marine Lake will have improved food and drink facilities, and the introduction of outdoor swimming.ÌýÌý

These projects form part of Weston’s wider vision for the town, which focusses on the themes of living, learning and lifestyle.ÌýÌý
