拢5 million to maximise potential in Antrim and Glengormley
拢5 million from the Levelling Up Fund will help to regenerate the town centres in Glengormley and Antrim.
Former police station development
In Glengormley a former police station in the town centre has been demolished. In its place, a new multi-purpose hub will offer:
- support for local businesses and entrepreneurs
- youth programmes for skills development
- office and start up space
- leisure and recreation space

Redevelopment of the former Wellworths building
In Antrim 拢1 million of the funding will help redevelop the former Wellworths supermarket building in the town centre.
The building will be:
- transformed into 16,000 square feet of office and workspace
- open for potential riverfront regeneration at the back
Backing the work of the council
The projects will support Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council鈥檚 ongoing work regenerating the town.
The former Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman Stephen Ross, welcomed the funding. He said these projects will provide: 鈥渋nvestment, growth, and jobs, boosting our local economy as we continue to recover from the challenges of the past couple of years鈥�
He went onto say: 鈥淚t will provide a vital boost to the local economy, not only attracting investment and creating jobs but also continuing to support the recovery of our local businesses.鈥�
