拢47.8 million allocation for Peterborough Train Station (Levelling Up Fund 2)
Plans for the allocation are to regenerate the area around the train station 鈥� known as Station Quarter.
Transformation of the station听
Plans for the funding will transform Station Quarter, creating an improved gateway to Peterborough and Cambridgeshire on the East Coast Main Line.听
Improvements to the station entrance include:听听
- building a new western station entrance, creating a double-sided station听
- creation of new car park closer to the station entrance听
- an improved footbridge over the train lines听
- new green areas with community spaces and better connections to the city centre听
A boost for the region听
The station improvements will:听听
- encourage more rail travel听
- improve rail passenger journeys听
- make the city safer and easier for pedestrians听
- bring more jobs and visitors to the area听
