£20 million to transform Selby CentreÌý(Levelling Up Fund 2)
£20 million from the Levelling Up Fund has been awarded to Haringey Council to transform the Selby Centre in Tottenham into a new ‘urban village�, including new community and leisure facilities.
State-of-the art Community SpaceÌýÌý
The new Urban Village will offer state-of-the-art community facilities, purpose-built to support the activities of 60+ community enterprises, projects and training providers.ÌýÌý
The space will offer:ÌýÌý
- multi-purpose officesÌý
- a new community cafe and community hallÌýÌý
- soft play areas and a crecheÌý
- a boxing club for young peopleÌýÌý
Leisure facilitiesÌýÌý
Levelling Up funding will also transform Bull Lane Playing Field into a new sports and leisure hub, which will include:ÌýÌý
- a four-court sports hallÌýÌý
- a floodlit full-sized artificial grass pitch for football and rugbyÌýÌýÌý
- two junior grass football pitchesÌýÌý
- an artificial non-turf cricket pitchÌýÌý
- a multi-use games areaÌýÌý
Community parkÌýÌý
An inclusive new community park will also be developed, which will promote health and wellbeing in the community. The park will include:ÌýÌý
- a new adventure playgroundÌýÌý
- communal planting and food growing areasÌýÌý
- new paths to encourage active travel and improve connectivityÌýÌý
The new Selby Centre, sports and leisure facilities and park are phase 1 of the council’s scheme to transform Selby.ÌýÌý
