£20 million to transform Selby CentreÌý(Levelling Up Fund 2)

£20 million from the Levelling Up Fund has been awarded to Haringey Council to transform the Selby Centre in Tottenham into a new ‘urban village�, including new community and leisure facilities.

State-of-the art Community SpaceÌýÌý

The new Urban Village will offer state-of-the-art community facilities, purpose-built to support the activities of 60+ community enterprises, projects and training providers.ÌýÌý

The space will offer:ÌýÌý

  • multi-purpose officesÌý
  • a new community cafe and community hallÌýÌý
  • soft play areas and a crecheÌý
  • a boxing club for young peopleÌýÌý

Leisure facilitiesÌýÌý

Levelling Up funding will also transform Bull Lane Playing Field into a new sports and leisure hub, which will include:ÌýÌý

  • a four-court sports hallÌýÌý
  • a floodlit full-sized artificial grass pitch for football and rugbyÌýÌýÌý
  • two junior grass football pitchesÌýÌý
  • an artificial non-turf cricket pitchÌýÌý
  • a multi-use games areaÌýÌý

Community parkÌýÌý

An inclusive new community park will also be developed, which will promote health and wellbeing in the community. The park will include:ÌýÌý

  • a new adventure playgroundÌýÌý
  • communal planting and food growing areasÌýÌý
  • new paths to encourage active travel and improve connectivityÌýÌý

The new Selby Centre, sports and leisure facilities and park are phase 1 of the council’s scheme to transform Selby.ÌýÌý
