Global Entry gets you through border control faster at

You鈥檒l need a UK background check to apply for or renew a Global Entry membership. You can only get a UK background check if you鈥檙e a British citizen.

If you have a Green Card, - you do not need a UK background check.

Once you鈥檝e got Global Entry membership you:

  • will not need to queue to speak to a Customs and Border Protection officer
  • can use the Global Entry lane with electronic check in

How to apply for Global Entry

  1. It costs 拢42 - you must pay with a debit or credit card. You鈥檒l also need your passport with 鈥楤ritish citizen鈥� on the photo page. You鈥檒l find out if you鈥檝e passed in 10 working days.

  2. If you pass the UK background check, you鈥檒l be given a UK access code. You鈥檒l need this to complete a US Customs check. The US Customs check costs $120. You鈥檒l find out if you鈥檝e passed in 2 weeks.

  3. If you pass the US Customs check, you鈥檒l need to go to an interview within 6 months at an . You may be able to have your interview when you arrive in the USA instead.

Global Entry membership lasts for 5 years. You will not get a refund for any of the fees, even if you fail the checks.

You can register for someone else if you have their permission. You must have parental responsibility for them if they鈥檙e under 18.
