Details

This document provides an update to the earlier 鈥楪uide for Hydrology and Hydraulics - Pumped Catchments鈥 (SC090006/R003, 2012).

As part of the guidance update, it was decided that practitioners in the operating authorities, responsible for flood risk management in low-lying catchments, would benefit from viewing illustrative examples.

This document presents a worked example which compares results for assessing flood risk using the new method. This is compared to those using the processes set out in the earlier guidance, 鈥楾he Hydraulics and Hydrology of Pumped Drainage Systems - An Engineering Guide, Report SR 331鈥 (November 1993).

The project was started in April 2009 and completed in October 2013.
