Mobile Ecosystems Market Study: Appendix H - Apple's and Google's in-app purchase rules 2022 (CMA)

A research paper from the CMA

Abstract

The main way in which both Apple and Google monetise their app stores directly is through requirements on certain developers to use their proprietary payment systems to process in-app purchases made by users, such as paid for apps, features or content within an app, or subscriptions. Apple and Google charge a commission of up to 30% for these transactions.

This appendix sets out potential effects arising from Apple鈥檚 and Google鈥檚 in-app purchase rules affects developers using their respective app stores.
