The Representation of the People (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) (EU Exit) Regulations 2022

This instrument corrects deficiencies in Northern Ireland electoral law arising as a result of the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. The instrument amends the Electoral Law Act (Northern Ireland) 1962 (the 鈥�1962 Act鈥�) and Northern Ireland Assembly (Elections) Order 2001 (the 鈥�2001 Order鈥�) to ensure that UK passports can continue to be used as voter ID documents at polling stations in Northern Ireland for Northern Ireland Assembly and local elections.
