This instrument is required to help ensure that the UK has a functioning statute book at the end of the Transition Period. Under section 3 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (鈥渢he Withdrawal Act 2018鈥�), directly effective EU legislation will be retained in UK law at the end of the Transition Period. This instrument makes amendments to the retained version of Regulation 2019/1150 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 on promoting fairness and transparency for business users of online intermediation services (鈥渢he Online Intermediation Services Regulation鈥�) to ensure that it functions correctly in domestic law at the end of the Transition Period.
