Driving and medical issues
Before you contact DVLA, read about:
- which medical conditions you must tell DVLA about
- what happens after you鈥檝e told DVLA about your medical condition
- how to disagree with DVLA鈥檚 decision about your medical condition
- how to reapply for a driving licence following a medical condition
- how to surrender your driving licence because of a medical condition
If you tell DVLA about a medical condition, your application will usually take 6 weeks. It may take longer if it needs to be referred to a doctor.
