Eligibility

You only have the right to Agricultural Sick Pay if you were employed before the rules changed on 1 October 2013聽and it says so in your contract.

You must have been continuously employed by the same employer for at least 52 weeks before the first day of your absence.

When you become entitled to Agricultural Sick Pay (ASP)

You won鈥檛 be paid for the first 3 days off sick unless you鈥檙e away for longer than 14 working days in total.

Sickness that counts for ASP

  • your own illness, whatever caused it
  • your own illness or incapacity caused by pregnancy or maternity
  • injuries which happened at work
  • injuries which happened travelling to or from work
  • recovering from an operation caused by an illness or injury suffered at work or travelling to or from work

If you鈥檙e sick because of another reason, you might be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay.
